GRC Professional : GRC Winter 2012
32 GRC Professional • Winter 2012 USEFUl rESOUrCES Connecting with your peers ACI Discussion Groups give you opportunities for networking and sharing ideas aware of the busy schedules and restricted budgets of its members, aCI has been gradually developing discussion group activities for members, utilising teleconference, to enable members from all regions to participate. the kind of topics opened up for members so far have been prompted directly from member requests. although slow to start, groups have been gaining momentum as they have progressed. It is intended that these groups be entirely forums for informal discussions, rather than ‘working parties’ that might be assigned a specific task or outcome to achieve. However, they are dependent on member interest, passion and input to succeed. New groups open semi-regularly and the current list of opportunities can be found under the ‘volunteering’ tab on the aCI website. don’t be put off by the ‘start date’ listed – we are merely trying to keep the registration for the groups open, but many are meeting already and some are about to commence their meeting schedule. take a look at the detailed description for each group and that will outline if the group is already meeting with an existing schedule (and what it is) or if they are yet to meet. If you have additional topics you’d like to see listed, please contact the aCI office. We welcome all suggestions and as our website capabilities improve we will also be looking to have online discussion options open for members. the viability of a group is dependent only on it having an interested member to champion it and enough fellow members who would like to participate. For more information about ACI Discussion Groups, contact ACI National Manager Naomi Burley on +61 2 9290 1788 or naomi.burley@ acigrc.com Compliance and regulatory Journal the Compliance and regulatory Journal is a unique publication featuring a selection of peer-reviewed articles from a range of practitioners, academics and other leading experts in the area of compliance. aCI publishes the Compliance and regulatory Journal twice yearly in hard copy. the journal was developed in response to research undertaken in 2005 which established the need for a high quality publication that would provoke thought on current and emerging issues. members can download all issues of the journal at www.acigrc.com under ‘tools and resources’.
