Now the nation has a new securities and capital markets regulator charged with restoring confidence after a series of high- profile investment failures. The inaugural CEO of the Financial Markets Authority is sean hughes, a former senior executive with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) who has returned home to take on the role. GRC Professional spoke to him ahead of his visit later this year for ACI’s 15th Annual Conference in Brisbane. seAn hughes As head of the Financial Markets Authority, he is charged with promoting fair markets as well as growing New Zealand’s capital base.
